What happens after activation
Every day, Asana Backup connects through the official Asana API with the read-only access you granted, and captures a complete snapshot of the workspace you selected: projects and sections, tasks and subtasks with all custom field values, comments and activity, attachments, assignees and dates, and the dependencies between items.
Each snapshot is dated and kept for your plan's history: 30 days on Solo, 90 days on Team, a full year on Business. Any snapshot can be downloaded at any time as a structured archive that reads perfectly well outside Asana.
When you need something back
Two paths, both included. Usually you open the snapshot from before the loss and download exactly what's missing — a task with its comments, a project's attachments, a section of work. For bigger losses where data must go back inside Asana, every plan includes guided recovery: we help you restore the records into the right place, field by field.
